Just a quick review. I bought
Just a quick review. I bought this upper last year for $289 attempted to shoot 1000 rounds through it. Cleaned it every 200 rounds I had about 10 to 15 Failures on every magazine. I bought other Mags BDM all Generations same thing. Failure to extract, Failure to Load, StovePipe, bolt failed to close all the way once and case exploded and shot Fire out the side, you name it this thing had it. Pure Junk. I ended up selling after about 700 rounds as it was too frustrating to even shoot. Tried it on about 5 different lowers all had the same issue. I called the company and they were going to make me pay to send it in and I just laughed. I ended up selling it for about $125 with Full Disclosure to the buyer. I think he ended up throwing it in the trash after his attempts. The absolute worse piece of junk I have ever bought and "I ain't even mad bro."
This is for the truely desperate.
I have since just built my own dedicated Ar-15 .22 cal uppers using CMMG bolts and barrels or Kies Bolt and Barrel and YHM Diamond Rails, It came out to about 400 bucks each for the 3 I made and have shot over 1000 rounds in each with out a single failure using the same BDM Mags and lowers with the CMMG bolt, but the Kies didn't like waxy CCI Lead nose bullets only the Federal Jacketed ones so I would go with the CMMG. Of course the mags that came with this I included in its sell so I can't say how they would have functioned on another upper.
A trash can is probably the
A trash can is probably the best lower receiver option for this thing. So your friend had the right idea.
For the record, just about
For the record, just about everything about this upper sucks. I'll be returning it as soon as I get a chance to drive up there.
I've got a 22lr conversion
I've got a 22lr conversion kit ( about 150.00 ) .Change your bolt on your AR -15 Load up your mag filled with 22lr ammo , and you use your own AR for practice / plinking. Same gun feel, weight , sights. just 22lr. AND go to Blackdog Machine and buy mags. I bought them there about $10.00 , But it's been a while . Just soak 22lr Bolt in gun oil a couple days B-4 use. GREAT FUN WITH 22LR.. Also Wally -World has paint ball tubes that are great to hould your old / new 22lr bolt , or a spare AR bolt. In the gun dept. See ya' at the range. .
I would spend a little more
I would spend a little more on the CMMG dedicated upper if you can find one. However do not invest in the CMMG mags, get the Chiappa 22LR AR mags, they are top notch.
Yes this is just slap on a finished lower and go after adding a rear sight.
CMMG mags are ok, just a pain
CMMG mags are ok, just a pain to load.
Does this include the bolt
Does this include the bolt carrier group. I have a Smith & Wesson M&P sport. Can I just replace the upper with this and be good do go?
Why not just buy a .22LR
Why not just buy a .22LR complete AR type gun? They seem to be plentiful still.

I wish Whittaker would invest
I wish Whittaker would invest in a real website. I'm a little too far away to just randomly drive down there unless I know they have what I want.
Being that it says all parts
Being that it says all parts included I would guess it includes the .22 cal bcg so that upper would function on any standard ar15 (556/223) lower. Pretty decent deal considering they are not just clearing out a .22 cal upper with no magazines to be found anywhere.
be aware that the upper is
be aware that the upper is made out of polymer
True, you cant convert this
True, you cant convert this to a regular upper, but it should handle .22 just fine
not true, but I would not
not true, but I would not trust torquing down the barrel nut and think it would hold the recoil and pressure of a .223 round :) mocked one up to see how light it would be with a plum crazy lower in .223. just didn't have the balls to test fire it... was super fucking light though with a 7.5" barrel and the polymer lower at 5.9 lbs with loaded 20 round pmag. I just ditched the cheap chippa upper for a rguns one on my ar22
It's called a Bushmaster
It's called a Bushmaster Carbon 15, I weighed one at right about 5.2 lbs.
