I also bought 3 of these-
I also bought 3 of these- from AIM Surplus- two days after the school incident. The particular ones I received were all perfect, including the FCG holes ;) They are all particularly well-made and stink of high-quality. Mine were, however, very low serial # units. All 3 below 2300. Not sure where in line the trouble units sit. I wouldn't be afraid of these if the price is right.
lol aim surplus had these
lol aim surplus had these after dec incident and they were only 80 bucks plus ffl
When this crazy wave has
When this crazy wave has passed I am going to remember which companies did what. I have been a fan of Buds for quite a while now but they have really lost my respect in the last couple of weeks. They were selling SOG lowers for $300 yesterday and another place had the same ones for $250. I understand supply and demand as good as anybody but some of these guys are really going above and beyond to take advantage of this situation.
The "roller coaster" is
The "roller coaster" is called supply and demand economics.
Nobody is ripping anyone off if they don't have a gun to your head making you buy it. I get so tired of people complaining about prices getting jacked up to "rip" someone off. I just got back from the shot show and everyone (Stag, LMT, etc,,,,,,) are all 12 to 24 months behind and are not even taking on new orders or dealers. If you know anything about retail, you know that you don't sell at what you bought it for, you sell at what it will cost you to replace it in your inventory. Or in many cases for many retailers; they know it will be a long long time before they see any new inventory and wont have anything to sell in there stores (guess what happens if they don't have product to move in there stores???!!!)
Yes I agree, eventually supply will catch up with demand or demand will slow and prices will level off again.
Based on the last gun shows i have been to and the "gun ban" debate still looming I don't think it will be soon.
(Just my 2 cents)
BLAH BLAH BLAH! Why are you
BLAH BLAH BLAH! Why are you guys posting price gouging? and why are you wasting time defending it?

Beware---I have purchased
Beware---I have purchased three of these and each was out of spec. Two of them wouldn't accept buffer tubes and didn't fit my upper receivers. AR57 will ship you out a replacement, but that's a lot of hassle.
I knew that this was going to
I knew that this was going to happen. Everyone increased production and quality control suffers while they rush to fill the orders...
Very true. I wonder what else
Very true. I wonder what else is suffering from this sort of thing...
Manufacturers are catching up
Manufacturers are catching up as the demand is lessening. Wait 2-3 weeks; the roller coaster of profits for these guys is almost over.
Agreed. The used market is
Agreed. The used market is really starting to come back around as well(at least in my state). Starting to see AR's get down to more reasonable prices...not near what they once were but getting closer.
Be careful with
Be careful with these--reports I've seen from the batch AIM Surplus received indicated that there was about a 50% chance monkeys milled the FCG holes instead of humans. Reports are that AR57 was making good on replacing out-of-spec units, but they should've never made it past QC.
So what about the complete
So what about the complete lowers? I would guess those are OK?
Never thought Id see Buds
Never thought Id see Buds ripping people off as well.....
I'm aware that these lowers
I'm aware that these lowers are ridiculous but Bud's is the ONLY one I've seen maintain some normalcy in the middle of all this craziness. Last week I got a top of the line Core15 from them for $1249 and it shipped yesterday...I don't believe for one second that Bud's is 'ripping people off'...
I saw buds playing around
I saw buds playing around with pricing on non-ar rifles (savage model 10 308 bolt actions). Forced me to buy from a competitor. then they lowered their price. That pissed me off. I've had decent luck with Buds. Sometimes the wait is excessive when sending in money orders. But now, I've got a negative bias towards Buds.
These exact same lowers are
These exact same lowers are around $110 on AIM....so with a cost of about $40....they are ripping peoe off. They arent that great on pricing to begin with...so....added to the list of places I wont deal with. No big deal....plenty of others around and more on the way every day.
Aim actually had them listed
Aim actually had them listed for 79.00
One problem; They haven't had any in stock for weeks.
