Well if it makes you feel any better you could always cancel the 9mm order... Storm Lake makes a great barrel I plan to buy that just drops in the M&P 357/40 and allows you to shoot 9mm (with 9mm mags, of course).
Can't help it, though... I've been wanting an M&P since I started seriously thinking about buying guns this year and finally finding a sweet deal literally made my day (more like month). =D

i was looking at the storm lake website, the m&p 40 they are selling is the "full size" version right? it comes in 2 barrel lengths, the longer the more accurate? do you know anything about the porting option?

If you want to get the ported
If you want to get the ported version it will be extended. I would rather get the threaded barrel. Usually with a longer barrel comes a longer sight radius, that is why it is more accurate, but in this case i'm not sure that you will get more accuracy since the sight radius is the same

Possibly provides a negligible increase to muzzle velocity, if the "threaded barrel" portion is in addition to normal barrel length. Aside from that and maybe looking tacticool, nope.
