I have bulk Keys and bolts, and Pins etc, so this is great for me. Just buy the CMT 158 bolt from Weapon Outfitters and I have good BCG's for about $145 for what I will have into them. And thats a full Auto Mil-Spec with BCM upgraded Extractor spring, BCM firing pin, and 158 Bolt.......NOT BAD!

So far, it was wise to wait. Nothing really going on with Obama. He is not dealing with guns. Few months before November at least. Supply should normalize. I would buy probably 5-10 BCG just before November election. If democrats win they will go double in price. If lose - will sell at cost.

That video must be old. Just bought 3 of these two hours ago and they already sent a shipping email. This is the second time I have bought these bolt carrier groups from brownells. You dont need and FFL. Great BCG's...Brownells rocks when they have items in stock.. :)

No you have to get the
No you have to get the carrier key and stake yourself. Do biggee,, I use the High temp permatex thread lock and stake for double protection. Works great....

I'm not sure about Brownells policy on "M16" BCG's but according to BATFE these parts by themselves are not a Machine gun & are legal for anyone to own just like a standard carrier group. I bought mine from PSA without issue, a bit more money but no hassles. What people call an "M16" carrier is just an enhanced carrier for longer life in any rifle.

I heard that M16 is just one of two available BCG types. Probably there are more but two are common. M16 is a heavier one and by some opinion is better because of this fact.

Yes, there are 2 standard BCG's for DI gas system AR platform rifles - M16/Full auto or Enhanced & Semi auto or Standard. The Semi-auto has less material on the back end of the carrier & a slot cut in the back. The M16 enhanced version is solid & has more material on the bottom back end of the carrier making it heavier, but also allowing it to hold up heavy use & usually a longer service life.

I just got mine today. Great Carrier for the money. I had extra gas keys and bolts so I just got this to build a complete BCG.
The M-16 is heavier, and dramatically slows the cycle time down for a more improved rifle......especially if running a Carbine length gas system which is overgassed. If you have a Carbine gas system, running this and a Heavy buffer is ideal to keep it reliable.

Does this item actually have to ship to a FFL as stated in the Brownell's video on the webpage? I've read differing articles on this. Anyone have any idea if they actually require this?
