I got another kit in yesterday. The upper and BCG was in very good condition. The rest was decent. Of course, it was missing the sling and cleaning as stated, as well as a few springs/pins. What was odd about this one was instead of a vintage Colt magazine, it came with a new in wrapper Mako E mag. I'll probably just sell the mag for $25.00, but I'm pretty happy with the condition of this kit. It really is hit or miss with these.

I got my kit today, and it didn't have the strap and cleaning kit, as I expected, but it did have everything else, including the auto sear. The springs are old and brittle, but I don't plan on using them, anyway. The only part that looked like it actually had any wear or use was the charging handle. The only bummer was that it looks like someone tightened the bolt on the butt plate too tight and cracked the butt plate. Does anyone know where I can pick up one of them?

I have an M16A1 kit that I purchased from sarco two years back. It has a naked barrel but no mag or sling. Auto sear, trap door butt, no teeth are broken. I paid $500 and have pictures. I am willing to sell for $500 plus shipping if anyone is interested.

So much for great customer service.

I find this situation extremely disappointing for several reasons:

1. The recent catalog for these kits state "First Time Offered" when the kits were offered over a year ago. First with a barrel and then w/o a barrel.
2. All the kits offered before came COMPLETE as shown in the photo AND cost LESS!
2A: Kit with barrel offered March 2011 for $540.00
2B: Kit without barrel offered April 2011 for $450.00
I bought 2 kits with barrel and 6 kits without. I was satisfied with all. Every kit came as adverstised.

3. Now you're selling the kits for $100 more and they are incomplete. Not only were the cleaning kit and sling missing, but they were also a few springs, and pins missing to include the taper pins for the front sight base. I have those in my parts bin so didn't bother to mention those when I called.

4. A $10 coupon for a $1080.00 worth of product is an INSULT! A mere 1%. I thought of Sportman's Guide in much higher regard until now. I think a more appropriate compensation would be a $100 credit per item.

I will retain my items only because I know they are getting scarce, but you can keep your $10. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

My advice is to update your photo and state various small pieces may be missing.

I do understand the frustration and again apologize for the problem. We did contact our vendor for this item and they are looking into what happened. We do have more of these on back-order with this vendor and we are having them check these before they ship them to us. The only answer I have as far as the pricing for this item changing is, it all depends on the price we pay from the vendors. As we all know, these prices can change at any time and without notice.

Mine is missing a lot of stuff too. I hope the next one has everything, but with 3 of us already bitching, but i doubt they will.

Just received my second, and will be calling for a return label after I post this. You will NOT be able to build this kit as it is missing a LOT of things pictured. Also note that both kits I received included the disconnector, but missing the auto sear and everything from the magazine over, among other things.

The picture is dead WRONG and there is no parts list so thats all you have to go off of.

Just got mine. Not impressed, Missing cleaning kit, sling, dust cover bent, and marred gas block/sight post. I haven't inventoried the lower parts yet, but i did notice the disconnector IS actually included. Which sucks because I already bought one. Guess I'll be contacting CS to see what they can do for me.

The upper/BCG looks to be NOS which is nice.
