There are so many uninformed

There are so many uninformed buyers out there. First off this isn't a PSA upper, it is a PTAC upper, big difference. Second you guys are comparing lower quality with low quality. What's the point?? Cheap is cheap.

Do get me wrong, PSA is awesome for putting up these deals, but you need to understand what type of quality you are getting and how long this low quality stuff will take to ship. 15 business days is a months time at least. Educate yourself and don't just click the buy button, because that is what they want.

Yes they do. Mine showed up yesterday & looked better than I thought it would. Fit perfectly on my old aero lower I had from forever ago. I'll try to get to the lease next week to try it out.

Question with 1st build: Will

Question with 1st build:
Will this upper go well with the CMMG Complete Lower/Stock also listed on here for $200?
It would be $70 more for what seems like a better lower/trigger set up.
Or should I stick with this kit in it's entirety?
Thanks

i like the cmmg lpk more than the ptac. It is a better trigger out of the box. I don't think it's worth 70 bucks though. If it were me i'd get the palmetto built lower and use the 70 bucks towards a better upper. As funds become available i'd then upgrade the fire control group. FCG swaps on an ar15 are very easy to do. That additional 70 bucks on the front end can get you an upper built with a decent barrel. The ptac barrels are serviceable, but given everything that's been written about them i wouldn't get one for my first build

Thanks for the feedback. I've already purchased the Anderson Lower and that's it. I'll continue to research and get the best lpk for the money (within reason lol), then get a better upper when a great deal pops up. Not in a rush. I'd like to keep it around $450-600 total, any more than that I may as well buy a fully assembled S&W or other proven brand with a warranty.

If I hadn't already bought a

If I hadn't already bought a complete PSA upper a few months back, I wouldn't hesitate for one second ordering one of these. In fact, I've had to fight the urge to hit the buy button. I have a lonely complete NFA lower (my other complete NFA lower fits great and is working flawlessly on my PSA upper) and 2 other PSA stripped lowers that I bought around Thanksgiving. If the upper can put a projectile consistently on a small paper plate at 100 yards, it is plenty good enough for 99% of the population's purposes. If you're a first time wannabe AR owner, buy it, build it and shoot it. Have fun, this stuff is plenty good unless you're a gun snob. BTW, I bought complete NFA lowers with butt stock and everything for $99 delivered around Thanksgiving. With this upper and my NFA lower, I could have a sub $400 AR. Now, if only ammo would get off it's present price plateau we could all stock up even more.

The rest can come to my door? Sorry if I sound stupid but I never purchased a firearm in this manner. They were always completely assembled.

Yes, and since they charge

Yes, and since they charge you shipping for the items and a separate charge for the lower, you are better of placing two orders: one to you, and the lower to your FFL. That way the FFL doesnt have to handle all your items and maybe lose something.

Awesome deal, but beware. The PTAC triggers are really bad! Get ready to replace it if you buy this kit. Gritty as sandpaper and about 9lbs. The one I had was actually faulty too! Buy an ALG QMS or ACT, then you have a great rifle.

Agree, even though I have a premium-parts build that was slowly bunched up as budget allowed. If I had waited 'till now for most of those parts, I would've saved around $200 overall...

With budget parts like these available, it really presses the profit margins of the 'known good' parts.

there is 1 tricky part, and

there is 1 tricky part, and honestly just let your thumb nail grow out till you can use it, short of the correct tools that makes the tricky detent easy.

you dont need anything specialized for the lower at all. to not mar up the finish at all get a flat piece of wood like a popsicle stick and duct tape it to the jaws of a vice grip pliers, then push things in, dont tap things in.

that works for me, its really simple, you will find what works for you.

I use a credit card, hold it

I use a credit card, hold it over the detent pin with to fingers and slide the detent right in, the credit card works better the thinner it is

Another tip to add to Sophies

Another tip to add to Sophies is that if you buy a decent rubber coated magnet, it can save one a lot of grief.

It can retain all the screws, indents or springs from falling onto the floor, or just keep them in one place on your work area. A good magnet can sometimes catch springs hell bent on getting away from you. Lots of people like those custom dust covers, & that little bastard C clamp on the far right side of the rod loves to go flying. Put a magnet next to it and it prevents it from going anywhere.

Supermagnetman is a good source for powerful magnets and has a very good selection of rubber coated ones so they won't mar the firearms finish.

second time I posted on this

second time I posted on this ptac subject 1/2" GROUP @ 100 YARDS just like every other ar15 I have had even my spikes. you do not have to spend over 415.00 for a 1/2" ar15. I have built 2 ptacs so far they both drive nails my first one has 1200rnds and counting not one issue with function or accuracy 3-4" groups are people who can not shoot or are afraid of the gun

Bought a lower and parts kit

Bought a lower and parts kit at a gun show last weekend. Sat down in the living room and put it together on a tv tray. This was my first lower ever to assemble. I used a small hammer, a punch, and a razor knife. Hammer and punch to drive pens in, and the razor knife to retain a spring.while i was getting another part. Find a youtube video and go to town. Looks way more complicated than it really is! If you don't have the special punch they sell for driving in the bolt catch pin, use some tape to keep from scratching up the lower.

I did some reading up on PTAC

I did some reading up on PTAC and others (on AR15.com ) have said that had they weren't good. Not sure but I would stick with PSA stuff as opposed to PTAC. Also, as a note they added the 3-4 MOA statement to PTAC barreled uppers. Not sure if there is a correlation to the thread on ar15 but.......

That's the whole " If you did

That's the whole " If you did not buy a 1500 dollar ar15 like mine it's a piece of junk" Thing going on there. You do not have to spend more than 419 for a good ar15. Use the other 1100 bucks for ammo and shooting lessons. And those of you who think your going to use your ar15 in combat your dreaming, wake up and save your money for your kids education
