This is a great rifle to buy and to customize. It comes with a forward assist. I wouldn't put DPMS down. They have some good stuff for the money.

I've purchased from them before the rush, during the height of the rush and within the past weeks. During the rush, it took almost a month for fulfillment. Most recently, it took less than a week. I don't dispute your bad experience. I can only speak for myself. I've had nothing but good luck with them. ANY retailer was backed up a couple of weeks ago. That's my experience. They also honored a price mistake on an SR1911. No one does that anymore.

In researching my first AR, I came across these because they tend to be a bit cheaper than comparable guns out there. I didn't read shining reviews about them, so I waited, and actually scored a Bushmaster ORC for $799 with red dot at a local dealer here in RI (D&L) Strangely enough, I saw it posted here, clicked "go to store", and how about that, it was at the place a few towns away. Score! They sold out of them really quickly. This was late last week.

They are not bad for a basic
They are not bad for a basic AR, keep in mind these don't have sites and the gas block rail sits lower then the receiver rail so if you stick a flip up sight there you'll need one that sits taller for that, there are afew of em on the market. Or just stick a basic scope on it and your good to go. Pre panic these were about 650 or so so it's really not a BAD deal given todays market.
