Just got 2 of these in and
Just got 2 of these in and they are being returned. The left side is discolored ( or bleached out) like they sat in water or were exposed to sunlight for a very long time. The follower is very different than my FS2000 magazine follower and not marked 5.56. Also the " 2 10 " marking on the left side of the magazine is not there, nor is the "04TQ4" marking on the right side of the magazine. Also on the floor plate there is no "FN" logo on the bottom. These are STEEL and are much heavier than the aluminium one the FS2000 came with. Just FYI.
Just fyi - the guns listed
Just fyi - the guns listed above that this magazine works in will also take whatever ar15 mag you have laying around. This is not a "special magazine" for these guns by any means. Its a 40$ steel usgi magazine. Brownell has a 5 or 10 pack available for MUCH less and they always have coupon codes for free or discounted shipping. Just fyi.
Not exactly true... standard
Not exactly true... standard P mags will not work unless you take a dremel to it in the FS2000 has a gasket that fits the STANAG mags but not the polymer mags.
True. Just figured that
True. Just figured that anyone that owned said guns would be smart enough to know poly mags would be case by case based on the mfg. Steel fits all of them as I own an FS2000 and have owned the other two.
Will they fit a SCAR 16s?
Will they fit a SCAR 16s?
Yes, the scar 16s is
Yes, the scar 16s is chambered in 223 (556) and the magazine well is basically a stardard ar15 platform thus acepting ar15 style of magazines. FN states "usgi" only at least that is what was in my owners manual. I modified pmags that work just fine in my 16s as well as three different brands of usgi steel magazines that work.
With that said many people report having fitment issues with various brands. Some say they require grinding of the magazine (I have never had this issue) or others say Lancer or only FN etc brands work and swear by that. Your mileage may vary.
Also, Magpul "Pmags" are in the stages of having a special type that feeds the scar (223) platform. Maybe this will fix the cracking of the feed lip.,,, No word yet on availability but Im sure with the panic buying that might have been pushed back.
Those are called E-Mags, and
Those are called E-Mags, and cost a little more, but they work in the FN 2000.
Actually E-Mags had the same
Actually E-Mags had the same issues as p-mags, that is why Magpul created the pmag gen 3 the for Scar 16s.
Stick with FN mags for and $2K AR gas piston anyway...you can afford it!
It's all about the different
It's all about the different location the bolt lock hits the follower, a very simple dremel tool zap and about 3 seconds fixes any of the previous pmags to work fine in the scar
