These posts are just silly. 1

These posts are just silly.

1 guy says he loves the five-seven because it over penetrates
1 guy says he loves the five-seven because it doesn't over penetrate.

Can we all just agree that the 5.7 is a silly round for civilians since all the benefits are for ammo we are unable to buy?

I think the only selling point besides the "wow" factor is the fact that you can get a 30 round magazine in such a reasonably sized firearm.

Clearly you've never shot one

Clearly you've never shot one before. I have 5 firearms that shoot 5.7 and I carry one daily. From various items I've tested the rounds on around my farm it's more devastating than 9mm. The high capacity, low recoil and low weight make it nice to carry, no need for extra mags, and I have much better groups during rapid fire compared to even a low recoil 9mm.

I have the PS90 and the 5-7

I have the PS90 and the 5-7 MK II. Worth the money and waiting for the ammunition price to go lower. The lowest price for ammo I found was $21 + shipping. I love the 5.7 for it's lack of penetration through the house with the nice and expensive Elite Ammunnition brand. :D

In the words of Ivan

In the words of Ivan Chesnokov:

MAIN POINT OF SELLING BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS EXTREME PRICE OF WEAPON AND CARTRIDGE.

BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON OF MAN WHO WEARS EXPENSIVE ITALIAN FASCIST SUIT OF HAND SEWING, DRIVE HUGE EXPENSIVE NAZI MERCEDES OF A.M.G. SHOP, SAIL ON MASSIVE YACHT TO GREEK ISLANDS. I THINK YOU GET PICTURE. BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON THAT SAYS IS NO SUCH THING AS CONCERN OF MONEY.

FOR MAN WITHOUT EXPENSIVE SUIT, BIG BLACK MERCEDES, AND MASSIVE YACHT, BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS FOR PRETENDING OF BE RICH LIKE BLACK GANGSTER OF AMERICAN CITY WITH GOLD CHAINS OF LOW QUALITY AND JEWELS OF COLORED GLASS. WHEN YOU EXPLAIN USE OF BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS ONLY FOR SHOOT MAN WITH BULLET VEST WITH CARTRIDGE ILLEGAL TO CIVILIAN, THIS MAN HAS NUCLEAR RAGE. WHOLE IDENTITY OF THIS MAN IS SPENT IN PRETEND PISTOL SHOWS HE IS RICH. IS VERY AMUSE.

FOR REST OF WORLD THERE IS 9 MILLIMETERS OF LUGER WHICH IS SAME WOUND FOR COST LESS.

Before getting all emotional

Before getting all emotional like a left leaning liberal attacking nazis? Nazis generally were from germany, and really have nothing to do with this gun.

The 5.7 can go through most soft armor with no problem due to the projectile speed(9mm not so much). This is something to consider when making a purchase for anyone.

Never get emotional based on how you might look when a member of your families life is at stake. Buy based on what will protect you.

I could care less about this gun. I just reposted what some crazy russian had posted about this gun in a well known gun post. If you have money to burn, buy several of them.

Passing fries through a window tends to leave you on a Hi-Point budget.
Maybe Obama can lend you some handout money for ammo. Except he hates guns. :( Sorry, guess your'e shit out of luck.

i made the mistake of buying

i made the mistake of buying one for 1300 in January during the panic. i picked up 1900 rounds of ammo for it too (at under 50 cents). i shot it 150 rounds before i decided its no where near as cool as the hype says. sold off all the ammo (at close to a dollar), put the gun in storage. if i could go back i would tell myself not to buy it. feels too cheap and trigger sucks for a $1000+ gun. You cant pull the trigger without a mag in it either, and if you defeat that, then the mags dont drop out. I should have sold it when they were fetching 2000+ in february. and BTW all the crazy velocities advertised from the 5.7 round are from the rifles. The 40g ammo thats actually available (and intended for the rifles), only leaves the fiveseven pistol at 1700FPS. get one if youre set on it like i was, but trust me you wont shoot it much, its just not as cool as you want to believe.

TT 7.62x25 ammo is about to

TT 7.62x25 ammo is about to be the same bad ass as this one (1,720 ft/s TT vs 2,350 ft/s FN) and TT ammo is 2.5 times heavier (85 gr TT vs 31gr FN).

From penetration perspective they both do very good . Kevlar helmets, light armor ? Not a problem !

1000$ for a new gun is fine (even C&R Yugo TT just being around here for 125$ few days ago), but 1$/round of 5.7 ammo - no thanks.

I have been watching these

I have been watching these for over a decade, they don't do a ting for me aesthetically, feel like a water pistol. It's a novelty item that will get you in a world of trouble if you ever have to use it. The cops think they are cop killers and so do the local sheriffs. Why bother buying something that has no real upside. Self defense is areal problem over 25-30 feet. Pulling one of these out and going to town on a bad guy will probably cost you your house after everyone sues you.
