never buy any "survival kit"
never buy any "survival kit" ... all of it is mid to low quality crap that will break after 1~3 uses , like said below me, just put your own together.. it will be much cheaper in the long run, tailored to your environment, and will have good quality products in that will actually help you survive .... some of the Bear Grylls stuff is ok at best but most of it is junk... and i don't even hate gerber, i think gerber makes some good stuff here and there, the BG line is pretty much trash though...

I couldn't bring myself to buy anything with his name on it because I'd feel like a fucking tool.

Not something I would bet my
Not something I would bet my survival on. Ditch it and put together your own survival kit with tried and true products that you can trust with your life in case of an emergency.

It may seem like a great deal.... but its far from it. I got one of these when they first came out. Its cheaply made and not what you would expect from Gerber. It does not even include a compass! Make your own kit and save yourself the disappointment of this survival kit.
P.S> I really wanted this kit to be good. I love Gerber and always carry one of their multi-tools.
