Description:
Tough on varmints and deadly accurate from the bench. V-Max bullets have a polymer tip that causes rapid fragmentation at all velocities and a profile that provides the greatest possible bearing surface for added stability out of the barrel. .22-caliber shooters will appreciate the barrel-friendly, velocity-enhancing moly coating on select bullets. |

I use both 55gr V-max and 60gr V-max with AA2230 powder. I just make the small adjustments in powder charge. I use the same OAL for both bullets. Havent noticed and change in my group, so I dont see a problem switching. I just get what I can get at the time.
Have any of you tried Varmint
Have any of you tried Varmint made by Alliant? The powder charges are only from 40-55 and I wanted to use them in a 62gr bullet. The charges start at 27 with a 40 gr vmax and end at 24gr for a 55 vmax. They seem to drop it a grain and a half or so every 5 grains of added projectile weight. I was thinkin 20-22 gr for a. 62 gr fmj steel core
