Bought one of these from

Bought one of these from Brownells to check out. Their quality is very high, they are lighter than a standard lower, if you're doing a pistol build this will help. The kit comes with extended hammer and trigger pins, which some people won't like, you can't use standard ones. I installed a standard CMMG lower parts kit, no issues with improper fitting or anything weird. The lower mated up to a DPMS slick-side upper very well. I'm doing a pistol build with this lower chambered in 7.62x25. I'm happy with the lower and would buy another one for another pistol.

If your name is URKEL or

If your name is URKEL or MYRON and you need a 3oz difference and have and extra $110 to burn for no reason, then by all means, by a 6 pack of these! While you're at it, wear magnesium underwear!

The thing is... Yes, it's a $200 lower. Overpriced, maybe. But it is light. VERY light. A standard AR15 Milspec lower weighs 9ozs, so this IS 1/3 lighter.

But would you really notice 3ozs difference weight over the entire gun? Doubtful.

I've said it once I've said

I've said it once I've said it 100 times. Mil-Spec is Mil-Spec, meaning Mil-Spec parts aren't gonna fit any better or worse in this lower or any other. Spec is spec... meaning 0.001" is 0.001" whether you spend $1 or $1000

There's no re-enforcements or "streamlining" of anything that makes a $200 lower receiver $125 better than a $75 lower receiver. The only difference can be materials, and it ain't double between 6065 and 7075.

Time to wake up people and take back the market. Leave the $200 lowers to collect dust right next to the $400 barrels and $300 quad rails.

Once again you are uninformed

Once again you are uninformed but yet still give your input. This isn't made out of 6065 or 7075. I'm not saying I would pay $200 for it, mostly because I could care less about 3 ounces, but that doesn't mean it's a terrible deal. Maybe you should get off a gun site until you understand them.

I never stated this receiver

I never stated this receiver was made of either. I was making a general reference on cost of materials vs end price. Since that flew over your head maybe you should get off my nuts and go patrol someone else's comments.

Here's some info for the truly uniformed: Look it up.

Although magnesium is about twice as expensive as aluminum, its hot-chamber die-casting process is easier, more economical, and 40% to 50% faster than cold-chamber process required for aluminum. The machinability of magnesium alloys is the best of any commercial metal, and in many applications, the savings in machining costs more than compensate for the increased cost of the material.

I'm sorry, what was that about giving input, getting off sites and understanding what?
