Actually, the database is always encrypted -- if you don't set your own password then it uses a hardcoded one by default in the background. That means even if there is no password set, nobody can manually edit the database file.

I highly recommend giving this software a try. A real gem in keeping track of all my firearms. You'll wish you had it in case of theft or insurance claims or even just looking up how big your gun collection has grown.

Also, the developer, Alan has been great in listening to user input in regards to feature wishlists and bug fixes.

Unfortunately I already looked into a solution for this sort of thing and at the moment I'm just using good ol' Excel. Maybe someday when my discretionary income shoots up I can happily justify a purchase like this to myself.
