Extremely thin and cheap. Wont hold my scoped 22" barreled Vepr, too tall. This will be delegated to hold my 5lb 16" AR15 w/low scope, anything bigger and heavier cant be safely used IMO.

Price is back up, but you can get these at Academy all day for this price in store. I just bought the rectangle version last week. They usually have tons in stock.

So does it fit a rifle with the scope& rings on?

I ordered 2 a few weeks ago. Not bad for 17/pop. The plastic is a little thin, but I see these at Bass Pro for around 30. So, not a bad deal. Save the boxes they come in, so if you live in an apartment or townhouse community, slip the case back in the box and no one will know your carrying a gun case...if your neighbors are the nosey type.

Will a flat top AR-15 fit in this?

Watch out for the plastic piano hinges on these cases. I ordered one last year and it arrived with half of it sprung out of whack. Using a knife tip, I was able to coordinate the fingers around the rod, but it wasn't confidence building. I am using mine for a scoped mosin nagant, but if I had an expensive rifle, I wouldn't carry it in this case. That hinge is just too iffy. I could see a heavy rifle just falling out of the case while walking along.

This will not fit an AR-style rifle with scope and any kind of vertical foregrip.

According to the amazon price history, this is usually between $28-$32 shipped from amazon... so $17 is a GREAT deal in that light. I think I'll pick up a few. Looks like some AR's would be tight fits...

Good case. Relabeled 1501 model it seems like to me from comparing the two. Been picking these up on Walmart.com for around 22 lately ($12 if you can convince them they are the same one as the out of stock ones for $11.97, they both use the same pics). Good all around case for the most part. Will grab a couple more here. Can't go wrong at this price. Does not fit my tactical 870 with the sight handle on.. Fits a scoped rifle barely, def not with a front handle installed...
