This looks like a good
This looks like a good startup kit for a beginner. Any suggestions on what else to buy/what other costs would be involved? (I know dies, shell loaders, and cartridge components will be needed but don't have a clue as to total startup costs.)
While it may be a good
While it may be a good starter kit... I recommend that if you have the money, you just skip this one and buy a Dillon press.
The extra time spent swapping out dies and getting tolerance correct for crimp, sizing and bullet seating are not worth the money saved.
I started out with a Lee press very similar to this one, and I wish I had just saved my money and gone straight to the Dillon. I recommend the 550 if you're only doing a few calibers and the 650 if you're ready to reload 4-7 different rounds.
Not to mention, this one lets you perform one function at a time. Meaning, you have to remove all the primers first. Load a new die, size all the cases, load a new die, add a new primer, load a new die, seat the bullet, add a new die, crimp the case.
If you're going to do it, do it right.
