Bought one this wkend. Was looking at the R51 and the Ruger LC9 w/laser. I chose the R51 because I had waited so long for its arrival. I now wish I had chosen the Ruger. I arrived home with my new purchase and as usual I put it to the test. I loaded one magazine with 5rds of 9mm snap caps. I pulled the slide and released it. The slide did not complete it's forward travel. I pushed the magazine release button and found that quite stiff. Once the magazine released, I pulled on the slide, nothing. It was stuck. Throughout the day I've been trying to get used to the R51. However, with the problems I've been having I'm almost afraid to run live ammo through this firearm for fear of getting a live round stuck in the chamber; something I did later in the day. So, at this time I wish I had chosen the Ruger LC9 w/laser for $30 more.

It may act different with ammo racking the slide. Several guys on my forum have bought them and written good reviews on them, THR.ORG., Also you may have a burr that needs addressing and require a good lube first, good luck. The LC9, is no prize, I had one and got rid of it right away for a shield. The trigger had the worse wobble of any gun I ever owned, and I have been doing this for 42 years, "carrying". Give the gun a chance, strip it and clean it real good first.

I also left the LC9 for a Shield. Great gun and carries 8 +1 rounds (9mm) in a small footprint. More than most others capacity wise.

I wanted an R51, but The Truth About Guns reviews has me second guessing. Did you see the guys hand after shooting the gun? Doesn't look good. Not sure reassembly isn't a problem either. I will wait for more feedback before my wallet comes out.

BTW, what took them so long to get this to market? Wasn't is supposed to be out a few months back?
