The standard by which all contemporary sidearms are measured, The Sig Sauer P226 is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this fullsize pistol easy to handle. Its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy. The P226 MK25 is identical to the pistol carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs-the fleet's special warfare operators. The railed P226 chambered in 9mm and engraved with an anchor on the left side of the slide is the official sidearm of the SEALs.

Jokes aside, the gun is

Jokes aside, the gun is legit. I typically like polymer frame guns are compact 1911-style. However, this thing is built to swim in the ocean, then roll in the sand, get run over by a tank and then save your life. It's a dope gun and it's also pretty, so it would be a shame if that happened. A friend got back from Kabul and carried the clone of this model as a side-arm. Bullet-proof...literally.

Respect for Sigs.

I got want one

I got want one too ? First off, a 226 is this price or why would you not pay $809 for a limited addition Gun that will increase its value over time instead of lose it?

A limited addition engraved MK25 with internal Salt Water coating for $809, or a standard 226 for $900......hmmm, tough call.

I was just messing with you

I was just messing with you guys, it makes sense... but I looked at the website and looks pretty much identical to the the standard model. They advertise "a longer barrel" but its the same as standard and where did you hear about a salt water coating?

I've never fired a Sig I liked. Too bulky for my preference and I think the triggers are garbage... Not to mention overpriced IMO. Some people rave about them, just not for me. I was just poking some fun at the anchor... If they were only pumping out 500 or so I might think about one, unfired, for collector value... but I doubt it's very limited at all.

edit: just read "anti corrosion coatings on controls and internal components" Yeah, Since I'm not A SEAL and my license to kill was just revoked, I have no need to pay for that. G26 check good. That anchor is still pretty sweet though.

Yeah, I am not a fan of their

Yeah, I am not a fan of their trigger, but they offer a changeout of the trigger. Recently I was shooting my 1911 for maybe 100-200 rounds and when I ran out of ammo, I picked up my MK25 and it took at least a magazine to get it dialed in. The trigger feels mushy and sloppy compared to even a basic 1911. I agree with you there. The one thing about the Sig, is its reliability. I have a Sig Pro 9mm SP2022 and it has probably 5.000 rounds through it without a single failure. The thing looks ragged and worn to shit but it just keeps shooting. I shoot steel, brass, FMJ, and HP and even +p (shouldn't) and it just keeps going.

And yeah, the coating is useless on the MK25. It is essentially a glorified 226.....but its a cool part of my collection. I Sold my MK23, and hated myself I really just got this to make up for selling my MK23......LOL
