These have been available for

These have been available for weeks at 1320-1350, price is not low enough to buy yet I guess. I know they are still new this year, but not sure why they cost $500 more than a Smith Optics Ready AR-15. (~ $850). Anybody got any insight?

It's the 308 tax. Honestly, this is a really cost effective 308 AR. I'm curious about its parts interchangeability and how well the barrel shoots. If the barrel is accurate... Pending details on some of the specs, the rifle might be a good deal even if you intended to swap the stock and handguard immediately.

Its the same as anything you

Its the same as anything you purchase that is less common. You, the consumer, have to pay extra for that. Engineers and manufacturers spent just as much time, or MORE, to make that item exist. Since they will only sell 1/20th as many as they do in 556, greater cost per unit is how they can are paid for their time. It applies to the automotive world and pretty much anything else... try and buy a nice exhaust system for an exotic and its $4000-6000, where an equal or nicer one for a common jap car is $1200.
