"Auto discount" does not work

"Auto discount" does not work for stripped upper (at least for me, this go around) applies to assembled upper. I've ordered several items through Palmetto, last order was delivered promptly, some previous have taken about two weeks or more. On a personal note. Hey, grammar a-holes, not everybody writes for a living, may not even type words or have to do paper work day in and day out. Cut them some slack. May just be a HARD working American, making more money than you do at the end of the year. Just sayin'

Hope this provides people with a better idea. Two uppers arrived identical apprearance. I was skeptical myself. http://youtu.be/YR7t4Vjzm1E Brief unboxing to shed some light to fellow users. Nervous to get horrible quality or badly damaged rejects....not the case! Fit and finish looks great as people have noted. Looks grayer than usual maybe? Highly recommended

I am about to build my upper.

I am about to build my upper. I have one of the take down pin vise blocks from Squirrel Daddy on Amazon. Is this an ok clamp to use?? Barrel is a CMMG in 22lr with Midwest SS G2 handguard.

The problem with the pin vice

The problem with the pin vice blocks is, you are applying 35-80ft/lb torque to the pin holes. The upper is not thick enough aluminum to take that kind of force without warping. The most obvious effect will be, you have to overcorrect for the warp when sighting in, but it could cause damage during operation as well, and of course not be as accurate.

The best method is the way Mil does it: clap the barrel. Mil just wants it to work, but we dont want clamp marks on our $400 Noveske barrels, so that may not be an option.

I use the DPMS Panther Claw. Its a pin vise, but the insert portion supports the upper from the inside, so the force is dispersed through the whole upper evenly. I take it a step further and use a top block, and clamp the whole setup sideways in a vise.

Thanks for the reply. I did some searching and saw barrel clamps made from polymer on Amazon and an aluminum one from Model 1 on Midway that would fit my pencil barrel but I am just gonna make a clamp out of wood.

If you are doing a free float

If you are doing a free float rail and dont need the delta ring or barrel nut, its cheaper to get a $6 dust cover assembly and $11 forward assist assembly.

I ordered two of upper blems

I ordered two of upper blems two weeks ago. Yes, they are a bit slow with shipping and it would be nice if they were faster at getting orders out. However the quality for price is excellent. If you are in a hurry you may want to pay more elsewhere. PSA has often been faster than DSA, DSG, and a few others this last year. I have been pleased with everything I have received from PSA. Today the two blem uppers arrived (that looked better than some other brands non-blem's).
I recently purchased one of their ptac barreled uppers and the finish on the barrel leaves a lot to be desired, that's the only bad I have to say about their products. It was still very inexpensive and shoots just fine.
Quality>Cost=Happy

Ordered one of these at the beginning of the month. Still waiting on it to ship. I have had it with PSA: crap products, crap service, and crap shipping. I will be canceling all three orders I am waiting on tomorrow. There are plenty of great places and sites to order from that have great customer service, just as good deals, and 10x better shipping times. I am going to have to wait on hold for an hour tomorrow just to cancel, such crap. Remember, have fun and stay informed.

You may be right about the

You may be right about the shipping and service but your dead wrong about the products they own ar the market as far as bang for your buck-quality, sure the ptac are low-end but you should already know that by the price, fn manufactures most their high end barrels and they are far from crap.

ordered another one of these

ordered another one of these to check out. too bad PSA has the slowest shipping department ever... ordered it wednesday. got a tracking number monday... but the tracking number still isnt activated yet. This is the norm... I order from PSA every month or two and its always a week or so before they ship. oh well, no rush. i dont know why slow shipping is so annoying, but it sure is. I will still continue to do business with PSA... aside from the slow ass shipping, they are a favorite of mine.

Same boat here - ordered last

Same boat here - ordered last Wednesday, got the shipment email yesterday, tracking number isn't "active" yet. Looking at my past orders from PSA, the "Scheduled Delivery" on the UPS Ship Notification email has been accurate, so there's that. Looks like 6 business days from order to delivery for me this round, which is reasonable - even if Amazon Prime has spoiled my shipping expectations.

Now just waiting for the complete upper I ordered 10/21 to ship. If patience is a virtue, PSA is building one heck of a virtuous customer base! (I'm not complaining, terms when ordering indicated it would be a while).

Got one a week or two ago. I

Got one a week or two ago. I definitely see the blemishes, but its nothing that bothers me for my cheapy build that's going to get beat up. There are 2 very small dents on the clean side, didn't notice until a day or two later. The way the anodizing fades to almost bare aluminum on the inside lends me to believe the finish is not anodizing but sprayed on, but that makes no sense with the lasered T markings and what not.. So not sure what's happening there. The fitment to PSA lower is great on the bottom side, but on the back side at the buffer extension area the gap is real big. It all sounds worse than reality and I honestly think that most people wouldn't be picky enough to care... But this part is definitely blemished and I can see why a good company wouldn't want to call this part their best effort.

Received mine today. They still have them, but for $10 more.

I cant really find a blemish other than a mar in the finish that wiped out. My two are T-marked and have a Square forge mark, indicating they are from Brass Aluminum Forging, used by BCM and DPMS. Did NOT get either with the PSA logo, which is a bummer.

$7 shipping, grabbed two for

$7 shipping, grabbed two for $147. Under $75 was my buy point for a stripped upper. In a few weeks we may see this price for non-blems. Reports indicate that PSA get their uppers from a variety of forges. Historical low on these is $50, dunno if we will see that again.

Biggest problem I have with PSA lately is their stock levels on everything else. I easily had $100 more n assorted parts I would have ordered with these, but nothing was in stock.
