I got some of these a month

I got some of these a month ago thru Amazon. They were $5 each, shipped direct from China. Great little stove to heat some thing up quickly.

Ha Ha I was just coming here

Ha Ha I was just coming here to comment the same thing. What the heck does this have to do with guns? This is slickguns not slickcamping, slicksurvival or slickpreppers. This is just about as bad as posting Overpriced ammo just because it is instock. Since when did a camp stove become a Gun Accessory?

What does this have to do

What does this have to do with a "SLICKGUNS" deal? Not trying to be an asshat but this is in no way related to guns.

FYI, you can buy these for a couple bucks less, with free shipping, on Deal Extreme. Just be aware it can take a few weeks to get your order from DX because they are in Hong Kong.

I have had one of these for over a year and it works awesome. Boils a pot of water in around 10 minutes. As far as the not finding fuel with the right threads. I didn't even know this was an issue. I just went to dicks or mills and bought whatever they had in stock and was cheapest. Everything I have bought has threaded fine.

I think I'll just stick with

I think I'll just stick with fire and hot coals to cook over and save my $

Only thing I saw bad on the reviews was that it was tricky to find a tank with the correct threading to attach.

I bought one of these and haven't had a chance to get the fuel yet. I did call around and found out that you are right, you will need to go to a backpacking store or website for the correct pressurized fuel bottle. I believe it is iso/butane, and comes in two cannister sizes. The smaller size costs about $5 and burns for only 1 hour. The larger size is around $8 and is twice as much fuel.
This could work well out at the range on a cold day and you needed something hot, warm your hands, etc., or if you are camping overnight. For longer term usage though, the negatives out weigh the positves IMHO. They need to be PRE-WARMED! to work well and do not work well in higher altitudes.
I also got a Svea Optimus 123 on ebay for $30, which I have a lot of experience with using in the past. It is MUCH cheaper to run and puts out a great flame. It is heavier though and really Old Skool, been around for around 60-70 years.

I am with you; find one which runs on any/all oils + fuels... (to include diesel, kerosene, and lamp oil...); then you are set, with what ever you can get from a regular store/ 7-11/ gas station out in the boonies... ( plus refill from the Hummer fuel tank or M113/M2/ M1/ MRAP, etc). Best is multi fuel, not special bottle/ fuel tank/ threaded head!. Regards
