well I received my ak74 on Friday 12/14. Everything looks good -- very happy with the fit and finish, all in all, looks tip top. BUT, the only problem is I ordered one with wood furniture, they shipped one with a poly "plum" stock/fore. I'm not sure who manufactures the furniture, but it looks pretty cheap and I had to struggle in bright light to see that it barely had a "plum" tinge to it, it is mostly black. Anyway, I called Classic and they told me their supplier started shipping them ones with poly stock instead of wood without telling them. I'm not sure if they drop ship or just don't look at items before shipping them to their customers. They told me no problem, I could pull off the furniture and send it to them and they'd send me a wood stock. Cool I thought, so I pulled it off and sent it in, and confirmed via email. They were very helpful. Well, I got confirmation that the poly furniture had been received by them on the morning of 12/19. Sent an email to verify receipt and hopefully get an idea when the wood one might ship, but nothing yet. I of course realize all suppliers have been deluged with orders over the last week, but since this was to fix a snafu on an already placed order, I was hoping to get this shipped prior to Christmas, as my family makes an annual range trip together every year, was hoping to put it to the test ... doesn't look like that will happen unless it shows up tomorrow. Will update again when I get a chance to shoot it (I may have to find some a temporary stock for it).
