I jumped on their 229 carry 9mm deal yesterday.$614 shipped for a new sig 229 9mm is an awesome deal. Ordered one. Looks like it sold out pretty quickly. Thanks op!

The sig m11a1 is a really nice gun and this is a good deal too.

Either the dumbest or

Either the dumbest or smartest advertising trick ever. The guns keep changing but the comments remain. If you read the comments, you have no idea which gun is being referenced. For me, this is crazy stupid. For Guns Midwest, I suppose there might be an advantage to see all the comments and capitalize on the confusion. Why not create a NEW separate ad for each advertised gun???

I have the CA SAS version of this. Love the gun I don't think this is the sig custom version. I paid $566 from buds which in my option is a steal as it comes with srt trigger, all corns shaved, night sights, etc... I have not seen them avalible again on buds so this a solid deal.

True. But the 229 requires a conversion kit instead of just getting a 9mm barrel which can be pricey and by that time might as well have bought the 9mm gun new. Sadly I don't shoot .40 or .357 sig otherwise I'd jump o. It

You can get a 9mm upper, but

You can get a 9mm upper, but you need the 9mm mags. That is the best thing about the .40. You can't go from a 9mm to a .40. Also, the .22 upper, and .357 Sig. The .357 uses the same mag as the .40. That is true with the Glock too. I use to collect Sigs, then I got pissed at the Sig forum, and when Glock. But, for a lot more reasons then that. At this price you can't lose money. Many people, sell these as new. Those people suck. One of the reason you see people wanting to buy the blue Sig boxes.

Just purchased and received

Just purchased and received my CPO P226 from Guns Midwest. Excellent communication, feedback, and order updates from Guns Midwest. Used the purchase by money order and a very smooth transaction. Pistol was in excellent shape with no external wear marks. Magazines appear to be new old stock. Pistol was delivered in a Sig CPO red box in excellent shape. Overall great price, excellent service, and I'll do business here again. Check Six and FRONT SIGHT!!!

Virgle: This is a solid deal

Virgle:

This is a solid deal on a refurbished Sig. If you're concerned about the seller recouping their CC processing fee you can go to a 7-11/bank/post office and get a money order and avoid paying 3 three points and get immediate shipment. Or write a personal check and wait for it to clear.

Since nobody gives away the

Since nobody gives away the 3% in any industry we used to include the 3% into our prices and advertise no CC fee like many places. With over half of our customers paying in cash or check we realized this was very unfair to those customer to pay a CC fee they were not taking advantage of. We find it much more fair to everyone to now only require the customers who use it to pay for it and allow the customers who don't to save some money. Since dropping a personal check in the mail is fairly simple most people take advantage of the savings. After realizing that nothing is free and every business charges a CC fee whether you see it or not, most of our customer agree that they would rather have the option to save and wish more businesses would do the same...

You fail to mention in your ad that there is the 3% CC charge. It was only when I when to pay for the gun I saw this. That changed my mind. I do believe you are a very good company. My question was can you get the CPO 226/229 in 9mm? Also, can you add NS, and the SRT to a gun. Just found your email on your site. I'll email you.

SRT and NS are easily

SRT and NS are easily installed once you own the gun. As far as getting them in 9mm, it'll probably be tough to find in a CPO. I think most are LEO guns rebuilt by Sig and most officers were carrying .40 in the 2000's. Some are going back to 9mm now but it'll be a little while before those are turned back in.

Had a good experience with buying my CPO P229 .40 from these guys. I didn't ask for an actual photo prior to receiving the order, but I understand this is offered. Came in the red SIG box and looked like new, shoots great. I also just picked up a SIG 9mm x-change conversion kit, with 9mm slide/barrel/recoil spring/night sights/magazine...in effect, it's like having two P229's for less than the cost of one new P229. Sweet!

Got the 9mm kit from Osage County, they had it (with the 10-rd magazine) on sale for $289, but now it's back up to $389. Very nice kit. You can probably find it on sale again if you can wait.

Short Version- I picked up a

Short Version- I picked up a P229 for $525 instead of the P226 and it is perfect, would buy ten more, no waiting a week for shipping and my FFL holder wasn't on record with them before my purchase. They shipped next day during the Hillary Scare of Nov 16. All I need now is more mags.
**** There is a no cash penalty they sprung last minute for $14 and shipping was $14.95. So add $30 to the price plus FFL transfer unless you pay GunBroker style. Gunsmidwest.com is located in Overland Park, Kansas.
Still happy with $570 including shipping, bs credit card penalty and local FFL transfer fee.

Long version

Okay so I checked this out, researched some stuff and decided to buy one of these from Gunsmidwest.com. Here's the relevant details.
It shipped pretty fast via Fed Ex. Took 3 days and I got my P229 with E2 grips and contrast sights. They have a bunch of 226 and 229 models with different builds including without rails, night sights, E2 grips(sold out for P226) and contrast sights(Sig's big dot style sights.) No Elite, Legion or DAK variants. [FYI-The P226 has a slightly longer barrel than the P229 and the P229 can use P226 magazines. There are P226 extended mags on the market but none for the P229.] I went with the P229 because I plan on making this my edc gun.
No way anyone could tell this isn't new. Spotless, scratchless. Same impenetrable slide catch lever as any new Sig in .40 S&W. Perfect condition. Came almost SKS style covered in oil and in a bag within a cardboard red box. Box reads used excellent condition. The manual has "preowned" stamped on the cover. The mags are probably used(have some scratches and the 1994 Law Enforcement etching) but the CPO program usually provides only one from what I've seen and these all have two. I know it's not the lifetime warranty, just one year with CPO, but getting a new firearm with extras that run another $120 for basically half price is unbeatable. The guys in my LGS who handled my transfer asked where I got it and were impressed at the price and condition. These look and perform like new. I almost didn't post this because I wanted to keep it a secret until I have Sigs stashed everywhere.

P226s start at $479 plain Jane with no rails like the ad says and P229 starts at $499. (I saw brand new limited edition P229 Carry around online for $600 but read up and you'll see many people sending them back to Sig because of problems with failures.) Gunsmidwest.com also has the Sig Sauer company sale on new P229s with a $150 visa card rebate and a $950 price tag so call it $800. I saw a new p226 for $725 while picking up the P229 locally. All prices in this are accurate as of 11-9-2016.
Put a couple hundred rounds through it the first year to be sure there's no issues and you're good. They've been making these for 25 years so parts and mags are around. 9mm conversion barrels aren't as plentiful with the P229 as with the P226 so if that's big for you maybe go with that instead. Xchange kits are in stock for $300+ on Sig's web store. So far haven't seen any locally. Sigs and Glocks remain cheap and easy to transition from .40 S&W to .357 Sig and 9mm. So even though many law enforcement agencies are moving back to 9mm there's a pace for the .40. Gunsmidwest.com only has CPO units in .40.

FYI - According to the SIG

FYI - According to the SIG Talk boards, you don't need a 'conversion' barrel to go from .40 to 9mm on the P226, the standard P226 9mm barrel will work. The P229 on the other hand WILL need a conversion barrel. Fairly certain you'll need 9mm mags for either. I can't say I've seen 'extended P229 mags' but considering the P226 work in the P229 you can use those just fine (I do). Mec-Gar makes some 15 round .40 mags that you can pick up at CDNN or GregCoteLLC.

you must have a conversion

you must have a conversion barrel

you see, .40 cal is 10mm, and of course a 9mm is just that--9mm.

there are other measures which don't align either, but no need to mention those since the most important ones don't match up.

yes, you NEED a conversion barrel.

Sorry Johnny that is not true

Sorry Johnny that is not true with the P226 in .40/.357 SIG you CAN just drop in a factory 9mm barrel. If you have a 9mm you cannot go up to .40/.357SIG without an exchange kit/new slide/etc. The P229 requires a conversion barrel to step down to 9 from .40/.357 . I have a CONVERSION barrel in my P229 that runs quite well with .40/.357 Sig mags and recoil spring. P226 ,originally a .40,runs fine with 9mm FACTORY barrel and 40 mags/springs. It is recommended that you do not carry/use for self defense in a 9mm configuration but great for cost saving at the range.

It arrived today at my FFL.

It arrived today at my FFL. It's in excellent shape. It could easily be the gun in the picture above.

There's the tiniest bit of wear on the inside-top of the slide, and a tiny bit on the hammer. Otherwise, internally and externally, it's absolutely pristine. No wear on the frame or grips whatsoever.

It came packed in a heavy coating of oil. All I did was to field-strip, clean, re-lube and reassembled it.

I won't get to shoot until at least the weekend, maybe even next weekend, so I'll know more then.

So far, looks like it's in amazing shape, and the transaction went smoothly with this dealer. I can recommend taking this deal while it's available.

I came to the 2022 from a background of Glocks and 1911s. I really disliked the 2022 at first. I didn't like the balance - felt way too top-heavy - and the bore axis felt too high in my hand.

But it has grown on me in the 2 years I've owned it because, bottom line, it is extremely accurate for what it is, and has been completely reliable.
