It's an alright 5.45x39 mm

It's an alright 5.45x39 mm plinker. The lack of a chrome-lined barrel kind of sucks, considering that you would probably get it to shoot the cheap, corrosive surplus ammo. The initial batch of these had some serious problems, but they have since worked them out. The other guy is right though - they should be $400.

If you're shooting x39 then

If you're shooting x39 then you definitely need chrome lined.

The primer is what has

The primer is what has corrosive doesnt matter on the actual pullet or powder. As others stated this is a $400 rifle, give it a few months.

Of course it is the primer.

Of course it is the primer. It has always been the primer. The primer leaves potassium chloride salt in the action and bore of the rifle which holds moisture and increases the speed of rusting/corrosion. If you believe that chrome lining doesn't play a huge part in protecting the gun, then I have some tin foil I can sell you to make a hat. ;)
